I want to enjoy the rest of my life and to make the most of it.  I believe that staying physically fit is a big part of that.  I want to continue to run for the rest of my life and enjoy it.

Personal:

I'm from good ol' Hurricane, UT, but I currently live in Glendale, AZ where I am attending medical school at Midwestern University.  I am married with 1 kid at the moment.  I love to run, and despise treadmills, but here they are currently a necessity.

So, I'm pretty sure that I have a herniated disk in my back.  Running is pain free, but as soon as I stop, I am in incredible amounts of pain.  This is why my running has been so sparce the last week.

After today's run I have made the decision to take 4 weeks off to give my back time to heal up.  This is probably going to kill my goal of getting to 500 miles this year, but I am in too much pain.  Oct. 5 we'll try again.

Quick run on the treadmill.  I'm hurting, but I had to get out and do something.

Two year anniversary of TOU.  Had to do a quick run today.  I've slacked off lately, but I will be starting full force now.  My back is fine, and I cannot handle the stress of med school without running.

Nice run on the treadmill at 8:47/mile pace.  I'm slowly getting back to where I was before I had the lumbar strain.  Man does it feel good to be running again though.
